At the heart of the remodel was a major architectural challenge: how to extend the home without losing its original roofline and historic character.

The Roofline Challenge That Defined the Project

This historic home remodel in Phoenix focused heavily on extending the roofline without losing the home’s original design.

The existing hip roof ended near the bay window, which limited both space and flow. We extended the home about five feet, but the real challenge was making the addition feel seamless.

While other contractors recommended a flat roof, we redesigned and extended the existing ridge line and tied it directly into a new hip that matched the bay window and original proportions.

The result is an expansion that feels like it was always part of the home.

Full Home Renovation Beyond the Addition

Along with the roofline expansion, we completed a full interior remodel throughout the rest of the home. This included a redesigned kitchen, updated bathroom, refreshed bedrooms, and a reworked layout to improve flow and functionality.

We also upgraded appliances and modernized key systems and finishes throughout the home, bringing everything up to today’s standards while still respecting the home’s original character.

The result is a fully transformed historic home that feels open, functional, and cohesive from front to back.
